Antony Jeffrey enjoyed his most encouraging Sprintcar outing to date last
Saturday night (October 14) at Parramatta City Raceway (PCR), aboard his # 47
AutoBarn – Villawood supported J&J.
Qualifying 29th, Jeffrey stayed out of trouble in the
heat race and finished the C-main in 8th place, providing him with a substantial
confidence boost.
“Qualifying was a bit of a lottery and I was lucky enough to get a good
draw and end up 29th, so I was very pleased with that as I had made the show,”
Jeffrey enthused.
“I wanted to stay out of trouble in my heat race, and I started from the
second of the C-main, which was a big improvement from the week before where I
started from the back of the field.”
Jeffrey’s aims for 2006/07 season are to
qualify directly into the main program (top 48) and to make the B-main; and he
came excruciatingly close to achieving both goals in only his second outing for
the season.
“The
track conditions throughout the night were tough, especially for the less
experienced drivers like me, but that was just another learning experience that
will serve me well,” he said.
“In the C-main there were plenty of tricky
spots out on the track and it was all about finding a suitable race line and
staying there, which I didn’t do.”
The presentation of the Jeffrey # 47
AutoBarn – Villawood supported J&J has brought plenty of positive
comments.
“My new
paint scheme has seen me receive a lot of attention, and that is only a good
thing for all of my sponsors,” he added.
Next Saturday night (October 21) will be
round four of the PCR track championship where Jeffrey will once more be out to
reach his goals for the season.
