Heading
into his second season of Sprintcar competition
this Saturday night (October 7) at Parramatta
City Raceway (PCR), Antony Jeffrey wants
to make a marked improvement on his debut
character building season; he is aiming
to become consistently more competitive.
After
missing the ‘Spring Nationals’ season opener
due to business commitments last weekend,
Jeffrey is looking forward to jumping behind
the wheel of his # 47 Raw Fuel Racing 410ci
Wesmar powered J&J, but is realistic
in regards to his goals for the 2006/07
season that lies ahead.
“I
know I still have alot to learn, so with
that said I just want to be able to make
the show [top 48 in qualifying] each and
every week,” the 33-year-old declared.
“Once
I do that, then I’ll take things from there,
but the B-main is where I hope to be on
a regular basis as well, and I feel that
with a season under my belt these goals
are achievable.”
During
the off season, Jeffrey spent five weeks
in California and Iowa, America, where he
was able to log some valuable track time
– gaining plenty of knowledge in the process.
“Although
I was only over there for a short period
of time, it was well worth it as the knowledge
that I have gained has been very valuable
and I want to put it all into practice,”
he said.
“I
hope that with that knowledge and a small
amount of track time that I gained can help
me in not only my driving but the understanding
of car setup for the varied track conditions.”
For
the 2006/07 season Jeffrey has added support
in the form of several new sponsors, namely
Autobarn (Villawood), Unique Blinds, and
Printer Workz.
